It’s a running joke in Maine that we have three seasons: Summer, Winter and Road Construction. Well, these days it may feel like that! With school back in-session, the crisp comfortable air settling in and a little free time on your hands, there is still plenty to do in the Bridgton area! No need to pack up the car and head to the big city; just grab a sweater (and one for your kid/friend/spouse who conveniently “ forgets”) and mark your calendar with some fun, local events!
Life is all about balance, and we wouldn’t feel good about recommending a moderately, unhealthy but delicious activity without a way to burn off all those extra calories.
Event #1: The Art of Craft Beer
Event #2: Shawnee Peak Fall Foliage Lift Rides! (Yes, of course the lift is doing most of the work but you can take a stroll around the grounds and enjoy a sunny fall day! )

“We here at The 16oz. Canvas are happy to announce our second ‘The Art of Craft Beer’ event taking place the weekend of September 28th and 29th in Bridgton, Maine at the new All Roads HUB, Community Market & Event Space. Our event entitled “The Art of Craft Beer – Hubbub” will expand upon the success we had last year in New Haven, CT while evolving the theme and offerings to our patrons. In adding to our vision; we have teamed up with local designer & entrepreneur William Holmes. Whose local adventures include STANDARD GASTROPUB, which offers a delicious and exciting menu of scratch made and responsibly sourced food to complement a large, hand curated, continuously revolving tap, can, and bottle list with nearly 300 of the best craft beer offerings in the country. Fall, also known as, “Road Construction Season” (and not to be confused with the same construction that appears every spring and summer in Maine) is the perfect time to get out and about. Finally, the sun feels refreshing and most of your yard work is done, so you can get back to enjoying the area you call home. We all know once the leaves start falling like crazy, each one is not a happy reminder but a subtle hint to check the gas in the leaf blower or find some neighborhood help to rake up those leaves before snowfall.
So, get out while the getting is good and take their word for it and “Join us for a leaf-peeping lift ride to the summit of Shawnee Peak. Our stunning views will impress! A lift ride is a wonderful way to spend a Fall afternoon.”. The lift will load from 11 am-2:15 pm (info from their website)
